That depends on your goals.
At the beginning of each engagement, we’ll talk about your pain points and where you want yourself and/or your team to be in the future.
Then, using the evaluation tools most appropriate for your situation, I will conduct a baseline assessment so we can track progress and measure results.
Here are examples of what other clients have achieved from our work together:
Increased self-awareness
Strengthened team unity and cohesion
Empowered employees to resolve their own conflict
Created a culture where employees are comfortable having open, honest, respectful conversations
Maximized engagement, performance and productivity
Reduced absenteeism
Increased productivity
More satisfied customers

While there are many methodologies available, my favorite is the Gallup CliftonStrengths (formerly StrengthsFinder) assessment. I like it because it emphasizes what’s right with people rather than trying to “fix” their weaknesses.
This strengths assessment facilitates personal understanding and awareness, appreciation of others and team growth. Because it’s such a positive experience, I believe it’s the foundation for strong teams and an accelerator to drive outcomes. Optimally leveraging a strengths-based culture is a proven path toward maximizing engagement and productivity.

One of the best parts of my approach is that you get results fast. In fact, for the individual assessments and coaching (Step 1) and team workshop (Step 2), we can move as fast as your team’s schedule allows. Typically we are able to complete this work in a month or less.
In terms of actual hours, each employee can expect to spend the following:
Strengths assessment: 30-45 minutes
1:1 coaching session with me: 1 hour
Team workshop: 2-4 hours one day with everyone
Total time per employee = approximately 4-6 hours
Follow-up coaching (Step 3) is a longer process and goes anywhere from 6-18 months. Each session is typically one hour weekly, biweekly or monthly.

Easy! Your new hire would simply take the same initial assessment the rest of the team took, then we would meet for an individual coaching session to go over results.
Then, at a team meeting, your new hire would share their summary and hear their coworkers’ summaries as well. This can be incorporated into a regularly scheduled team meeting, or at a separate team meeting dedicated to sharing this work.

The decision to promote from within can be tricky. A rockstar employee wants to advance their career, but not everyone excels at managing people.
I can help you make an informed decision. First, we’ll define exactly what the position requires—what the ideal candidate looks like. Then we’ll assess your current employee to determine what will likely come easily for this person in the manager role, and what might be a bit more challenging.
From there, you can make an unbiased decision about whether that person is ready to move up, or if you’re better off hiring externally.

Larkspur is the birth flower for the month of July, when my darling firstborn entered the world and changed my life forever.
I wanted to name my company something unique and meaningful … something that captures the strength and grace of my son. Blessed with an extra 21st chromosome in each of his cells, my son has defied the odds and blossomed into someone far more capable and resilient than I will ever be. He inspires me every day, and I’m a better human being because I am lucky enough to be his mom.
