My Story

You know how you hear about people having those “aha!” moments that change their lives? I had one of those not too long ago. Two, actually: One that kicked off what some might call a mid-life crisis, and another that ended it.

In November 2020, while enjoying coffee and conversation with friends, I was confronted with the question so many of us wrestled with during the pandemic: Am I living the kind of life I want? That began a year-and-a-half journey of discovering who I am, what I offer and how I want to show up in the world. That was moment #1.

In August 2021, I took the CliftonStrengths (formerly StrengthsFinder) assessment. It revealed what I have known my whole life but didn’t know how to embrace in a professional setting: My greatest talents are in relationships. And my favorite thing in the world is to talk about the difficult yet fulfilling job of being human. This was the moment #2…the exclamation point on that long period of wondering and wandering. It’s also the moment that led me to pursue the incredibly rewarding field of executive coaching.

As for what qualifies me to be your coach…

I’m an ICF-accredited certified coach. That means I know the fundamentals of coaching, how to ask the right questions, how to approach different scenarios, etc. It’s important stuff. But it’s also just a formality, because the fact is I’ve been coaching my entire life. In every friend group from as early as I can remember, I’ve been the person my friends rely on to help them work through difficult issues. It’s who I am and what I love to do. And, I’m good at it.

I look forward to working with you!

Why the name “Larkspur Coaching”?

Larkspur is the birth flower for the month of July, when my darling firstborn entered the world and changed my life forever.

I wanted to name my company something unique and meaningful … something that captures the strength and grace of my son. Blessed with an extra 21st chromosome in each of his cells, my son has defied the odds and blossomed into someone far more capable and resilient than I will ever be. He inspires me every day, and I’m a better human being because I am lucky enough to be his mom.
